We propose and discuss an original technique for data assimilation that combines information from multiple sources into a unique representation. This unique surrogate can be adapted to support simulation-based design exploration and goal-driven optimization problems. Applications relevant for aerospace engineering will be discussed to demonstrate the method over a variety of complex flows problems, including the simulation of multi-regime transonic flow and supersonic flow field.
