A two-fluid model for compressible flows: Application to the study of bubble dynamics

This presentation focuses on recent works on developing two-fluid models for compressible flows. A system of equations based on added mass is proposed, which is inherently hyperbolic. An implementation of such a novel two-fluid model is presented in the OpenFOAM framework. Then, the feasibility of the solver is demonstrated in the study of an alkaline water electrolyzer. Finally, perspectives are discussed about the mitigation of the acoustic time-step restriction and the extension to high-order fluxes.
